How to Reset Xfinity Router

  2. Access http://10.0.0.1.

  3. Common IP addresses for Xfinity routers are:

  • 10.0.0.1

  • 192.168.1.1 and

  • 192.168.0.1.

  1. Enter your username and password to access your device.

  2. None / None is the most common Xfinity router combination.

  3. Depending on your Xfinity model, the reset page may look something like this:

  4. Troubleshooting > Gateway Reset/Restore > RESTORE FACTORY SETTINGS

  5. Select the factory reset/restore option, and then confirm if necessary.

  6. Allow some time for the router to reboot.

Option 2: Pressing the reset button :

If you don't remember the password to your Xfinity router, or it is not working, this is probably the way to go.

Step 1: Locate the reset button

The reset button is typically hidden inside a small hole, but it can also be seen sticking out like any other button.

Note- If you can't find a reset button on your Xfinity router, the WPS button may function as one if pressed long enough.

Step 2: Perform the Xfinity reset sequence

The following is the router reset sequence:

  • Make sure the device is turned on by pressing and holding the reset button for about 10 seconds.

  • When the LED lights begin to flash, release the reset button.

  • Wait about a minute for the LED lights to begin lighting normally.

  • Your Xfinity router has now been reset to factory settings
